Honey Boys
Premium Buckfast Queens & Nucs
Reared in Somerset
British Beekeepers
We specialise in the breeding and rearing of premium Buckfast queens. Based in Somerset, farming slow with nature.
Honey Production
We produce raw & unpasteurised honey from the wildflowers, hedgerows & woodlands from around Bath. We manage over 200 production colonies across 10 different apiaries.
We breed F1 queens from select breeder queens which are open mated. We produce both nucleus colonies and queens for new beekeeper and experienced beekeepers who may be looking to expand their apiaries.
We run beekeeping courses from April - October. We offer 1 to 1 tuition or group classes where we cover all aspects of beekeeping in both a theory and practical element.

UK Mated F1 Buckfast queens, grafted from selected F0 breeder queens. Open mated in Somerset.
These queens are calm and prolific honey producers. They expand quickly in spring, producing huge amounts of brood.
Once the queen has successfully mated (2-4 weeks from setting the mating box) we then leave her another 3 weeks at which stage we can asses her brood pattern. Once we are happy that the queen has well mated and her lay is consistent, we will catch her, mark her in this year’s colour.
All queens are caged in Nicot cages with fondant and 5-7 attendant bees. These bees will look after the queen during transit. Queens will be marked before sending.
Queens can be posted via Royal Mail next delivery service.
